Anthony “Archfiend” Petkov is the new Top Laner of ZENA Esports, Team that has ended the Regular Season in Third Place.

The Bulgarian Top Laner has arrived in the Italian Championship after he played some splits in Prime League 2 and in the Bulgarian Championship, a little before joining LIT he played the Arabian League Qualifiers with Dragons Esports.

I’ve had the opportunity to speak with him about his arrival in Italy and his expectations for the split.

How would you introduce yourself to the Italian community?

ZENA Archfiend: I would introduce myself as an upcoming Bulgarian competitor who wants to unleash his full potential as a person and as a player.

My whole life so far i have been playing team sports so that’s how i got so addicted to the thought of competing and winning trophies with my teammates/friends, people who i would always support no matter what happens on the rift or in real life.

Not many people in the community knew your name when ZENA announced your arrival, where would you rank yourself among the toplaners playing this split?

ZENA Archfiend: Among the toplaners i would rank myself as second but i believe i have what it takes to take down any Top Laner if i train enough with my team.

League of legends is not a solo game so i think comparing myself with other people when the game is so volatile is a just a statement when it comes to being better than other players.

Laning wise i think i can outperform every Top Laner if the conditions are met.

Since your announcement, many have labeled you as just an Aatrox merchant. Do you think that’s fair, or are they completely off the mark?

ZENA Archfiend: I normally get this mark on my name as an Aatrox otp, I think that i have become what i am now because of him.

I value that champion a lot and i can safely say that he has changed my life outside of the game too, the champion is just perfection in my eyes in many aspects of the game.

On the question of do i think its fair, I think people overreact and value stats of websites more than seeing the performance of players in game and that’s normal because not many people have a chance to see how everyone plays and stats are the closest thing you can get to to understand how one player acknowledges the game but i think i am far from being just an Aatrox one trick.

I would call myself a person who has perfected the champion and has seen it all.

What did you expect from the Italian league when you decided to join It?

ZENA Archfiend: I expected this type of gameplay when i joined LIT.

I don’t think there was any surprise when we first started playing but so far i am enjoying the competition, i value improvement more than anything so i believe i can improve in many aspects during this split.

Are you satisfied with the current level of LIT?

ZENA Archfiend: I think LIT has a lot of potential mainly due to the EMEA slots, this opens many doors for young players to improve and find their place in the spotlight.

However in its current state I think it needs a bit more polishing,i would love to see more teams hitting the stage.

Right now, the Top Laner who’s performing the best is Mietek. Do you think you have what it takes to shut him down?

ZENA Archfiend: believe that he is a really flexible toplaner with a lot of potential but like i said i have played against him many times and i have what it takes to take him down and conquer that spot.

How is the relationship with your teammates?

ZENA Archfiend: The relationship with my teammates is in a good spot, i feel close to my teammates and i believe everyone is in good shape to improve.

We are happy playing together and talking to each other outside of the game.

There is no resentment between each other and we still have a lot more to show but we struggle to find our way to finding our identity which i hope we can reach this week.

Last question, are you winning the championship?

ZENA Archfiend:That is the priority this split for me i believe we have what it takes to win the championship with some polishing in terms of individual performance which i think pushes us back a lot.

I have spoken to my Jungler and he is more than fired up to go LAN and take it all.

Everyone else i already know has the desire to win but we still need to practice and improve if we want to fulfill our need to win.
