CG vs GMB was by far the most hyped match of the season from everyone, even if, during the Regular Season the reigning champions found a clean win against their first opponents.
After the series between ZENA Esports and GMBLERS, everyone started thinking that the first position of the championship was going to be very fought, even tho Colossal have always been the favorites.
This Bo5 has been as much spectacular as the ZENA GMB series, GMBLERS managed to take Colossal to 5 game.
Also thanks to the very poor form of the Sicilian Team, but credits to GMB who for sure corrected a lot of the mistakes they made in the last series they played.
CG vs GMB: The Series
Game 1

The first game for CG didn’t start as expected, as they overforced many plays and fell into GMBLERS’ traps, allowing GMBLERS to build a small lead during the first 18 minutes.
Despite this, CG managed to keep up the pace thanks to their superior macro play. At the 19th minute, they caught GMBLERS in the mid lane, secured four kills, and ran away with the lead.
This has been the breaking point of the game, from that moment CG started completely dominating the game as they manage to take the first map.
Not the cleanest early but we are back on the right track! 😈#ThatsLIT | https://t.co/MChO417j2B pic.twitter.com/Oq6mlfix0j

Game 2

Mietek is always a problem in the games, for every team, he is always getting out of the lane with a good lead and always manages to have a great impact on team fights.
So GMBLERS managed to figure out a solution to for this problem, they decided to send him on a 1vs3 against the Botlane + Jungler.
They have been able to get the first tower at the 9th minute, completely denying Mietek’s laning phase.
The start who shines after all these scenarios is surely CREM, who has been gifted an insane lead on the Senna, thanks to it he managed to carry GMBLERS to victory in this second game.
Game 3

Kikis on Skarner on this game 3 was just beautiful to watch, the Polish Jungler was just everywhere.
Despite Vigil securing the first blood on a solo bolo against FSZ, CG’s draft in my opinion just lacked of damage against the GMBLERS one.
GMB understood it too, they just started to dive CG everywhere, without any competition.
Skarner was the unkillable demon king and Jhin’s presence was kind of useless during the whole game.
Game 4

I know I always talk about Mietek, but he is just beautiful to watch in the top lane.
Once again, in this game he was the main carry for CG, at the 9th minute, he managed to find a solo kill on Renekton with an insane Gragas combo.
Despite being able to not fall too behind during the early game, GMB decided to troll their game in order to defend the Toplane T2.
Even if Vigil had a very shaky game, the Top Jungler duo from Colossal was just unstoppable.
Game 5

What a chaotic start for the fifth game of the series as Lucian manages to find a kill against Ezreal in the first minute.
Both teams keep fighting for their life around that botlane, with Vigil falling insanely behind in CS and kills against FSZ.
Meanwhile Mietek managed to find and incredible solo kill on Bambi7 thanks to Skarl.

Despite being giga behind on the midlane and jungle, with a draft which scaled a lot worse than the enemy one, CG managed to find their most important victory of the season.
Thanks to in my opinion, the big throw from Bambi7 with a terrible flash ult on the midlane.
As expected, Colossal Gaming is the first team who managed to qualify for the LAN grand final in Montecatini Terme, we will see them play on the 14th of September.
Today at 18:00 we will have the lower bracket final between ZENA Esports and aNc Legends!
