CG Mietek is the new Top Laner of Colossal Gaming, the reigning champions of the League of Legends Italian Championship.

The Polish Top Laner came in the League with a lot of expectations from the community, known as the “Perkz Slayer” Mietek is definitely going to make a lot of noise in this Summer Split.

I’ve had the incredible chance to speak with him about his arrival in Italy and his past experiences in the NLC with Bulldog Esports.

How would you introduce yourself to the Italian community?

CG Mietek: My name is Nikolas, also known as Mietek, I’m a Polish Top Laner, currently playing for Colossal Gaming.

I’ve already played a few splits in ERLs, you might know me as the guy who recently “ended Perkz career” in the NLC, I joined this team and the Italian league with 3 goals:

  • To play some good League of Legends
  • Qualify for EMEA Masters (very hard)
  • Make some noise there.

Hopefully, this statement doesn’t age too badly, and I really hope I get the chance to play in front of an Italian audience at the LAN finals.

When Colossal introduced your entry in the championship, everyone thought you were going to be the best Top Laner in the League by far, do you agree with this statement?

CG Mietek: Yeah.

To be honest when I first looked at the list of Top Laners, I only recognized two names.

Beyond just micro, macro, all that stuff, I believe experience matters a lot.

Even on a bad day, even if I got outplayed mechanically, I’m confident I’d still make a big impact and help my team win because I have that experience edge over the others here.

So yeah, I was confident from the start.

What did you expect from the Italian league when you decided to join it?

CG Mietek: I didn’t have any expectations. I thought there’d be at least one team that could compete with us, maybe push us a bit, but as it turns out… we’re just too good.

Are you satisfied with the current level of LIT?

CG Mietek: Not really, after going through all the regular season games, the wins just felt kind of empty, like playing “no history games.

” No real challenge, no emotions, just routine stomps. ”

I’d love for the league level to go up because tougher games are simply more fun and way more satisfying for me to play.,

Is there any particular Top Laner in the league who could challenge you?

CG Mietek: I’m not sure about it.

Which is the second strongest team at the moment, in your opinion?

CG Mietek: Probably GMBLERS, outside of us, they might have the best individual players in their roles.

Their mid and jungle especially, are really experienced players, which could help push the team overall.

That said, even at their best, I still think they’re at least one tier below us.

How do you get along with your teammates?

CG Mietek: The atmosphere is super chill, we’re always joking around, roasting each other a bit. But when it comes to the games, it’s clear everyone is serious about the League and wants to keep getting better.

Not something you find everywhere, I really like it here.

When you played with Bulldog, your support was Kasing,
How much did having such an experienced player on your team help you?

CG Mietek: Those were good times.

People loved calling him washed or grandpa, but honestly, Kasing was by far the best player I’ve played with, absolute GOAT material.

He took on a lot of responsibility in-game, and made it easy for us to just play, i learned a lot from him, not just about gameplay, but also his mindset, approach. The knowledge I got was invaluable.

Last question: You’re known as the “Perkz slayer.” How did it feel to gap a legendary player like him?

CG Mietek: That one was a canyon gap for sure.

Jokes aside, it was probably the best series I’ve played in my career, not necessarily my best performance, but definitely the most meaningful.

Perkz and Jankos were legends I watched on the big screen when I first got into League.

Playing against them and winning a tough 3–2 series felt not rea, the feeling after we took that last game? Impossible to describe.
