Every dream comes to an end and G2’s one was shattered from TES who managed to defeat LEC’s First Seed for the second time in this Worlds 2025.
Europe’s revenge
Despite the loss, this was a truly competitive year for Europe in comparison to the last 3 years.
The last time an European team managed to qualify for the Worlds quarter finals was in 2022 with Rogue and G2 managed to return in the top 8 after 4 years.
This loss against TOP Esports has to be a starting point for this G2 Roster since almost none of the player had ever played a Bo5 at Worlds.
Skewmond’s year
Even if he got criticized a lot during this Worlds because of his “passive” playstile, Skewmond has confirmed himself as the Diamond of this G2.
Reaching the top 8 of the most important tournament of the year as a rookie is a result that not a lot of players managed to secure.
The performance of the French Jungler against TES hasn’t been the best, mainly in the fourth game of the series where Kanavi’s experience was evident.
Surely G2’s drafts where not easy to execute, but despite that Skewmond always did his best during the games and the whole roster fought until the end.
TES showed us that they are here to play
After years and years of disappointment, TOP Esports finally managed to show up on the international field.
Everyone remembers the clash between G2 and TES at the MSI 2024 where the Europeans managed to beat them 3-0.
Since then their international struggles started to be clear.
The matchup between those 2 teams has been heavily TES favorite for the whole tournament since the first day of the swiss stage.
The biggest winner of today’s series in for sure Jackeylove who is very well known for his troll plays.
Today he shut everyone down, since he managed to never die in none of the 3 victories of the series.
Heads up and eyes on the next year
This G2 roster showed steady growth throughout 2025. The improvement of Labrov and Skewmond has been phenomenal, thanks above all to G2’s outstanding coaching staff.
Now it’s time to show that this team is ready to dominate in 2026.
